GUIDES These dedicated professionals are hard working, fleece wearing, sunglass bearing, weather tattered, “Set” shouting, fish netting, fly tying, genuine fly fishing guides. At first glance they may appear to be aloof, out there, glaze eyed, robotic and/or just guide like. A closer look reveals a couple of guys that will do whatever it takes to make your day the best it can be, period!
GORDY HERRICK If you were lucky enough to watch the 1973 Cotton Bowl, then you saw Gordy in his other Air Force Academy uniform! And it was during his time at the Academy that Gordy met his outdoor mentor "Stormy" and began conquering the best Colorado has to offer. Years later he began teaching Math and coaching football to fill in time between fishing/hunting trips.
Today Gordy teaches at Ft Lewis College in Durango, CO; where he has lived and guided for more than 20-years. Needless to say, he guides like he teaches/coaches: encouraging sound fundamentals and employing a winning game plan.
RYAN MCRORIE As a wide-reciever for UNLV, Ryan's only Bowl game appearance was that of a fan in Pasadena, so there left plenty of time to fish! After completing his Business Management degree, he hooked up with a marketing agency that paid him to travel the US introducing a new beverage to consumers called Starbucks Frappuccino. He parlayed that first job into a 10-year advertising career with progressive companies like EURO RSCG, RYAN Partnership, Mastermind Marketing and PRACO before launching his own Ad Agency.
Today Ryan's resume reads like Dos XX's Most Interesting Man in the World; Game Inventor, Personal Fitness Chef, Fly Fishing Guide and Business Development Consultant. He too, guides like he lives: pursuing all that life has to offer without being tied to one specific pattern.
